I know its can be diffcult to inject younger children when they won't keep still, Carly is usually good but yesterday she was grumpy and I just injected her narvorapid (and supposed to count to 10) but she moved away. I repeated the injection but half the amount just in case so I wonder what I should do - inject her again or not?

All depends really Ruth, could you see any insulin on the skin after she pulled away? Giving a second dose with only a few units can be enough to cause a postprandial hypo so it's not advisable to give a second dose unless you are sure the first dose wasn't administered. Appreciate it is a difficult one but I would rather give a correction dose later than risk giving too much insulin and risking a hypo, but just the same I hope this is a one-off for you both.

Hiya Ruth, this has happened quite a few times with Ben. If I'm fairly sure he didn't get full dose I would give him half then check in 2hrs and correct then if needs be. Sometimes though I dont give him any extra if like Toby said I didn't see any insulin on skin and again just check more regularly and correct if needs be. Quite a few times I've even seen a drop on his skin but his bloods are still fine later. These little things are sent to try us for sure!
