I have started filling a questionnaire online. It is asking for my consultants name and hospital or clinic address.
I don't have a consultant, I only see a community DSN, mostly a different one each visit, and often a different clinic address.
I left it blank, but it won't let me go on until I fill it in.
Any ideas what to do next?

We have to stop meeting like this @NannyCake.🙂 Forget the website it will tie you in knots,😡 phone them up and speak nicely to them. They will ask you a couple of questions and send you a form to complete. Take it to your DSN if you can`t complete it on your own, easy as long as your HCP thinks you are ok to drive. Hopefully they will send you a Medical 3 year Licence which you have too renew every 3 years. The phone number I have Is 0300 790 6806.🙂

You will gather others on here, it is just that @KARNAK and I seem to be the ones for you today.

You mention that you see the DSN in the community. Hopefully now that you have been diagnosed T1 you should begin to get more consistency. In GP practices there is often a nurse who specialises in Diabetes and is often an expert in dealing with T2, and picks up some T1s who are well settled with their management. These are not the same as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse who will have done a degree in Diabetes Care. These are the people you should be seeing at this stage, as they enable you to learn how to manage your T1. It seems a lot to do at the start but the multiple injections do make life a lot easier.

Keep in touch and keep asking.

Thank you both so much.
I am starting my basal/bolus regime today, my head feels like it wants to pop with all the info... wish me luck

This new regime will make life a lot easier and more flexible. I know that sounds a bit mad at the start, compared to not having to do any of this at all, but that is not an option.
It sounds like you have a good team that you are working with, and there is always the forum for any questions that you have. It really does get easier, and becomes a bit like when you learnt to drive. Steer, change gear, look in the mirror, .... Doing that at the start seemed a lot to do, now it is automatic. Same with Diabetes, and we just have to keep a watch for the bumps in the road, and other traffic, deviations along the way. Plenty of those but loads of help available on here. just ask.

Hi @NannyCake, great you are on Basal/Bolus regime, yeah know what you mean but you will quickly get used to it. Good luck and keep us informed. You may be better informed if you start a new thread in the General Message Board about your new regime this will enable more members to see it and offer advice for you, hope you don`t mind the advice?
