Hi All. Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere.

I use the Libre 2 sensors but as I have a physical job I can often dislodge the sensors. I have seen the different types of additional plasters to provide additional adhesion but is there a consensus on the best additional adhesive to use?

I have tried the large plasters that cover the entire sensor but they irritate my skin. I'm looking for general advice about preventing the sensors being knocked off or reducing the possibility of this occurring.

I have seen some that have a sensor sized hole in them and appear to extend the adhesive area but not sure how practical these would be to apply with one hand.

Thanks in advance

After reacting under patches due to the heat even though I've gotten on fine with them for years I bought an armband on recommendation from @rebrascora I've been wearing it full time for almost a week and have to say I'm really happy with it, very comfortable and don't really notice it's there anymore, I got it off eBay for under £10 xx

Some people seem to have more problems with sensor adhesion than others.

If you do use an overtape of armband, do make sure it doesn’t press to hard on the sensor as that can provide a subtle version of a ‘compression low’ by slightly restricting the flow of interstitial fluid below. But obviously there are some here like @Kaylz who find it very helpful with no adverse effects.

I don’t tend to need to overtape Libre (usually more a problem of peeling them off after the 14 days are up for me!) but with restarting Dexcom G6 I find a piece of Hypafix very good. Others use kinesiology tapes I think? Or transparent dressings like Opsite?

@everydayupsanddowns the armbands don't really press too hard on the sensor as there's a hole that sits over the sensor and then the strap isn't over the sensor, the plastic part just sits round the sensor with no real pressure actually on it xx

I work outdoors a lot with animals doing physical work and I was catching my sensors occasionally then or in the shower when I would forget which arm it was on and then accidentally scrub it loose. I was using Micropore to tape it down but I still couldn't see it in the shower and the micropore would look tatty after a day or two, so as Kaylz says, I bought an arm band. I was a bit apprehensive about it applying pressure to the sensor but it doesn't. I had intended to just wear it when I got in the shower as a visual reminder and when I was working with bare arms outdoors but I wear it 24/7 now and very happy with the extra protection it gives and the design of it is such that it encourages better adhesion around the outer edge of the sensor so even if I occasionally catch it when I am putting on my sports bra and ping the arm band, the sensor seems to be much more secure to withstand those occasions now. I would certainly recommend an armband. I got mine off ebay and it is 3D printed plastic with an elastic adjustable band and comes in a choice of colours.
