At risk of diabetes
I’m new here and have just been diagnosed non diabetic hyperglycaemic, not sure how to lower sugar levels as am slim, exercise a lot and don’t actually eat much sweet stuff. Maybe breakfast is my downfall. Also just been put on statins for high cholesterol, any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

Welcome @Dancer 🙂 Do you know the result of the test that diagnosed you - ie what number you got?

You could look at your diet overall. It’s all carbs that put up blood sugar not just sweet things. So potatoes, pasta, rice, etc. Watching the amount of carbs you eat should help.

Hi Dancer, welcome to the forum.

Sweet things are important to monitor with any kind of diabetes but equally if not more than important is your carb intake.

So, things like bread and pasta. You mentioned that your breakfast may be an issue, could you share what a typical day looks like for you foodwise?
