it would seem in our area if you get an infection and are running a temperature which of course can go hand in hand that they now automatically think it is covid-19 and if you require treatment be it at home or in a surgery you are placed on red and yep i am now in the red zone.

an old problem flared up end of last week and all because i said i felt hot they are sending a red team out to see me.

any way the twilight zone people are coming some time today so lets hope that covid 19 doesn't get in the way of dealing with the infection i have.

if this had happened last year bet i wouldn't of been placed in a red zone 🙄

i spoke to someone who works for ambulances and was told basically that there is a lot of confusion over the temperature situation and what is classed as possible covid and what is not.

seems if you fall sick with just the slightest thing it is now been presumed to be covid and they wonder why people won't seek treatment!

Hope you feel better soon.

We lost a chicken at the height of the avian flu pandemic. As we were in an area where it had been detected, the neighbours were treated to the sight of a DEFRA bod rocking up in a hazmat to pick up the body.

Hope they arrive soon to help you out.
My daughter had a headache, tummy ache and a temperature a couple of months ago for about 12 hours.
Based on this 111 told us to isolate and get tested for covid. So we stayed home and all had the tests despite there being no way it could be covid.
It wasn’t.
It just concerns me that obvious cases where it isn’t will result in these situations frequently for some people, like when they are back in school.
Hopefully you aren’t waiting too long

Good luck @mikeydt1 hope you feel better soon?

well no longer in the red zone and back in the safe blue zone. no sign of temp, sore throat or cough so clear as can be on the covid front but do have a nasty mans complaint the prostate which is infected and making me cringe in pain. treatment can be any where from a week to 4 weeks and in some case hospital is required.

as for schools, think most know it is something in waiting to happen. seems Johnson as the going is bad is looking for a quick get out of here as per usual.

Good to hear you are back in the safe blue zone mikedt1, but I'm sorry about the other thing. :(

Madeline that made me lol about the poor chicken, what did it die of then if not the flu?

Glad you are back in the blue zone.
Hopefully you feel better soon

It had an argument with a car a few years previously, couldn’t fly anymore, and the DEFRA vet said it looked like it was from that, damage to the chest and just got too much for it. They couldn’t find anything else wrong with it.

Oooh @mikeydt1 - like you need prostate trouble on top of everything. You absolutely have my sympathy and sincerely trust you get proper treatment and help with it from a proper Urology team. Just don't get leaving it too long before seeking specialist help, if it doesn't show signs of improvement soon, please.

Hi mikey, do you self catheterise because of your prostate problem? Only i do and you are prone to infections. At the start of covid hysteria i unfortunately contracted a water infection. Luckily i had phone consultation with gp who gave me a script for anti- biotics which i had had before for previous infection. The lack of hand sanitiser didnt help. I use this to try and prevent the nasty painful infections.

i have a SPC catheter in situ, the urine didn't show any signs of a infection so not sure why the prostate went like this. at the same time bugs can get in via the SPC and go under the bladder in to the organ so may be that is what happened.

have been told that the prostate lays between the bladder and the bowel so a double whammy.

i will be discussing the situation with a doctor later on today as i think it may need specific prostate medications to help ease the pain.

(there is pain and then there is pain :( )

pretty sure this is more a surgical issue than infection. reason is i had FB bloods done and was expecting the FB to show something but nothing which leads me to believe something surgical has gone wrong.

the doctor i spoke to seemed more on the pain side but really with nothing showing on the FB then the alarm bells should of been going a bit.

if it continues then i will raise this issue should the symptoms carry on.

What are FB bloods? Can't work that one out. By the way, a few years ago I had a couple of bouts of acute urinary retention associated with an enlarged prostate and yes, pain in that region can be exquisite. Things improved when the permanent additional plumbing was removed and I used single-use catheters while the prostate pills got to work.

Hope it gets sorted soon.

sorry should of said blood count, i would of expected the white cell count to be raised but nothing was showing.

didn't ask the doctor if the prostate was enlarged but if it continues then some things to ask. got to agree with the pain side.

i know one thing this is messing with the diabetes a bit but not severe.

by the way most previous bloods kept showing something but it was classed as okay and not high enough to be actioned.

Ah, that makes sense. Have you not run the gamut of prostate investigations? They are usually pretty keen on giving middle aged gentlemen a thorough once over when prostate problems begin to raise their ugly head.

@Docb - afraid that is NOT the case universally even though it absolutely should be! Friend of ours, couple we've known for years and have seen for a few days every few months, was openly discussing his probs last week - most either of us has ever heard the chap speak as we were all on the same camp site in Cornwall. He's been treated for an enlarged prostate for years but always only by his GP - we asked what his PSA was - he doesn't know, his Dr has NEVER told him, just saying 'It's OK'. We both went 'Aaaargghh' - and he's now decided to ask for referral to a Urologist asap. We assured him it is absolutely NOT OK to pee so slowly you sometimes fall asleep sitting on the toilet ......

in to second week and things feel a bit better.

i have over the years had PSA checks and they have been fine.

for us males anything relating to the prostate can turn nasty to dam right life threatening so for people out there be careful and seek advice if concerned.

don't think i am out of the woods yet with this.

seem to be producing excessive amounts of urine think it is either diabetes related or to do with the prostate gland.

i have a catheter in and have never seen such vast amounts, think it is a call to the doctors for advice to be on the safe side.
