Findings from The National Paediatric Diabetes Audit (NPDA)1 show widening inequalities in the care of children and young people with type 1 diabetes in England and Wales for the 6th year.

Yet the government says there is no systemic racism in the country. It is built in. Not just based on race, but on poverty as well. The levels of poverty in this country are the worst in Europe, while business leaders are the best paid. This the result of a decade of unnecessary austerity, where the poor, unwell, and disabled are punished for the sins of the bankers. Food banks are now a common sight in our towns and cities. This is Victorian welfare in the 21st Century. The government should not only be voted out, they should be confident that on judgement day, they will find only the down escalator works.

Levelling up? My Arse. When the pandemic is over, there will be more of the same - only worse. Unemployment will rocket to Thatcher levels - only this time, they won’t be able to use Scottish oil to fund their devastation of industry.
