Has anyone else noticed an increase in how often side effects appear with Metformin? I'm on the SR version, and luckily we I only really get side effects every couple of months or so. Since I've been in the house, it's every week. My diet hasn't really changed much, I'm walking a little and trying to increase my time on the exercise bike to counteract the lack of time outside, but it's not really helping. I feel like my body's just rebelling to being inside so much.

Which side effects? My worst was stomach issues, so was on the SR, my GP and I have also over the years faffed with my diet, am celiac and lactose intolerant, we tried the FODMap as well. I have been vegetarian on and off most of my life, this time for 30 years. I think you get Diabetes burn out with food. Pre lockdown I had a busy life, full-time working shifts, carer etc, couldn't be bothered with food, cooking or planning. I am currently in lockdown. Had high stress and anxiety. My numbers were all over the place and I'm on maximum medication next step insulin, which I totally don't want. But I am taking this time to try and rediscover food and cooking. Also about a year ago I managed to get myself off my omeprazol, think that was the FODmap diet.

It's the stomach issues. They were frequent on the normal version, but since I swapped to SR it's been so much better.

I totally understand what you mean with food burnout. Like now, my carbs have increased a bit just because of the food it's easier to get hold of right now! There's more bread for a start! But at least Sainsbury's is keeping stuff like salmon in stock so I can do well with that.
