Forgot to mention i had covid 19 last april which i have on going issues with

What kind of things are you eating?
xx

Nothing may have changed in your diet but unfortunately our tolerances to food can change over time, @grovesy is just one that's had to adjust their diet throughout their diabetes journey xx

There is tweet from DiabetesUk to say that there are increasing reports that there is an increase in those have having worsen of there Diabetes following Covid.
Also over the years I have found I have had to readjust things a few time.

Yes i had covid last April. Had lung problems along with low kidney function and possible fatty liver following that. Its still on going.
Problem is i have never had a positive covid test only positive for antibodies.

There was just a news item on the BBC saying how wide an impact Covid is having on the body not just impacting the lungs but the other organs involved in glucose metabolism as well so affecting people with diabetes or indeed causing new cases of diabetes. Also saying it is revealing quite a lot of previously undiagnosed diabetes.

How quickly do i need to get my levels down. They could have been over 15 on average for a few months now.

You need to speak to who ever is looking after your Diabetes Care, especially as you have other health factors to consider.

I would come back to the question of your diet and is there room to reduce carbs or lose weight and perhaps increase gentle exercise to see if you can do anything yourself to improve levels whilst you wait to get an appointment with your HCP.
If you would like to run your average daily menu past us, we might be able to suggest simple swaps to lower the carb content which might have a quite quick impact on your BG levels. It will also help to drink plenty of water to flush the surplus glucose out of your system when levels are mid teens. Do be wary of drinking anything which contains carbs (milk or fruit juice etc) when you are thirsty and suffering polyuria as that will just add to the problem.

If you have already stripped carbs back to the bare minimum then you are likely to need increased medication, so making that appointment sooner rather than later becomes more important.

I'm obviously having a problem here - how does the human body build up antibodies to deal with X or Y, without that body being exposed to X or Y?

When I was tested for rubella antibodies 35 years ago, I was told it meant I'd had it, without the spots to prove it, since I had the antibodies.
