SHOCKING new figures have revealed the effects of physical inactivity in South Derbyshire cost the NHS a whopping ?1.38 million a year.
The Community Sports Trust published the stunning stat as part of a bid to get more people ?fit and active? and reduce the number of people falling ill as a result of being overweight and unhealthy.
It was also revealed that 61 deaths a year in South Derbyshire could be prevented if people aged 40 to 79 engaged in the recommended levels of physical activity.
