Hi been on diabetic medication for three months since I was diagnosed with type two had my three monthly blood test on a 31st of October result came back as normal under 38. The receptionist said I should continue to take my medication. Is this correct? she said the doctor will probably let me know but my surgery doctor could be another month before you ever get to speak to one. Do I stop the tablets, I can say that I’ve lost over two stone since taking meds and giving up sugar cakes etc

Great news that your numbers have dropped and on the weight loss.
As above, its not wise to just stop taking meds without consulting GP, DN etc first, even if this might take a little while.
My understanding is that most HCP's will like to see two results, from two 3 monthly blood tests, with your results being below 42, and that would confirm you are below the diabetic range. I presume they like to see two test results to rule out any one off dodgy readings? They may not want to take you off meds before seeing two 3 monthly test results. I assume in your message above, this was the first blood test after diagnosis? You could maybe ask about reducing your meds though, rather than just stopping them?

Getting an appointment with the DN rather than the GP may be quicker, and more fruitful. DNs tend to have much more specialist knowledge than GPs. I decided (with advice from the DN) to stay on a low dose of metformin for the additional protection to the heart it offers.
But congratulations on getting your bloods under control, you deserve a big pat on the back!!!

As others have said, don't stop taking the med's until you have spoken to the GP or DN, but you are for sure going in the right direction, so very well done and huge congratulations

Alan 😉
