In praise of GP Practice

I fell awkwardly and heavily whilst on holiday. I thought the damage was just muscular and kept moving.
However when the pain intensified once home and made coughing very painful I decided to get checked.

Online request to GP 8:14, phone call from Practice 8:20, appointment 8:40!!!

Outcome small fracture of the spine. Nothing to be done. Time will heal.
MUCH more effective painkillers prescribed and now being very careful (and sleepy)

Oh poor you Sue. I fractured a vertebra in 2006. It is painful and can take a long while to heal. Take it very easy and do not push yourself. Good luck and positive vibes in healing.

Sorry to hear that, hope it didn’t mess up the holiday too much? And on the flip side if anyone starts moaning about a headache or sore throat around you, you can remind them of the time you walked off a broken back!!! Well I would anyway!
