Impact of climate misinformation

Interesting article in the Guardian today - https://www.theguardian.com/environ...e-action-very-popular-why-dont-people-realise - looking at people’s attitudes to their governments’ response to the climate emergency, and their perception of what others think. Across the world 89% of people think we should be doing more, but they also underestimate the concern of others.

One of the reasons for the discrepancy is identified as misinformation with a professor commenting “A third critical reason is the existence of a very large, sophisticated, well-funded and longstanding misinformation campaign being driven by the fossil fuel industry and its allies, sowing doubt and division to maintain their profits”.
