Hi I'm Georgia I'm new to the site.

I have been diabetic since I was 8 and I'm very up and down with my blood sugars sometimes feel like you can't win, but for as long as I can remember I have always suffered with my immune system I seem to catch everything and also have a cold and just generally feel under the weather .. have no energy, always want to sleep and eat , not regular bowel movements, I do eat well but sometimes snack on the wrong things. Does anyone use any vitamins, teas , home remedies etc to boost immune system?? As natural as possible I've tried berorcca etc but I'm not a fan of all the sweeteners in there!!

Thank you in advance

I have read that some people use the Tetley tea designed to boost the immune system but I don't know if it actually works, as for no regular bowel movements I had this trouble after being diagnosed, I could be constipated for weeks, can you tolerate granola? I have that and yoghurt for my breakfast every morning now and that seems to have sorted that problem out, I hope someone with more information and experience will be along to help you soon 🙂 x

Hi Georgia, perhaps you should ask your GP for a full blood panel test to include Vit D, B12 and magnesium. Sometimes we become deficient in these minerals and it makes us fatigued and prone to infection.
Make sure your diet has a good balance of nutrients too because what we eat affects how we function. It's essentially fuel. I'd also advise a good hand washing regime which helps to keep germs from your nose, mouth and eyes. I have to do this with my immune condition to avoid picking up bugs.
Good luck!

Welcome to the forum Georgia19964. Worth checking with your GP. The best way to increase vitamin D levels is to get more sunshine on your skin, without burning. Exercise can also help to ease constipation, so outdoor exercise is a double gain.
