Hi Richard and welcome.
I see you are type 2 - are you newly diagnosed?
Do you want to let us know a little of your story?
You certainly have found the right place for support and information.

Welcome to the forum Richard 🙂

hi

Hi Richard and welcome.
I see you are type 2 - are you newly diagnosed?
Do you want to let us know a little of your story?
You certainly have found the right place for support and information.

ive been diagnosed for about 2yrs now the first yr i controlled it by diet and was doing well but then it started to take controll of its own then was put onto tablets as in metformin and gleptiside i think it was called then my levels started getting higher and higher as in 20+ and on the 16 th december i was put on insulin as well as tablets things are getting better but when i have to do my injection i get very funny looks the same goes for my partner's daughter she is type 1 we have a good giggle about it but dont let it get in our way of things but we just say that we belong to an exclusive club and that its special membership yeh i know its not but it stops people from being to ignorant but we do get asked questions from time to time so we tell them

gleptiside

gliclazide? (sorry for possibly being pedantic!)

Anyway, welcome to the forum, Richard.

I'm about a year behind you in terms of 'progression' and so am interested in why you think the control went to pot after the first year (assuming you know, of course).

It's just that I've made quite good progress since diagnosis (i.e. lost a lot of weight, completely reorganised my diet and now exercise regularly) and have been diet/exercise controlled for about 1 year now. Fingers crossed, apart from occasional low blood sugars, I seem to be Ok for now.

Andy 🙂

Hi Richard and welcome to the forum 🙂

Just when you thought you knew enough about D, something else happens which you can't explain. The strength of this site is that there are other members who have probably experienced the same or similar and they're usually quite friendly in how they share their knowledge.

Welcome Richard! I am new to this forum too but looks a great place to learn.

Hello Richard, welcome to the foum, you have come to the right place to have a good rant and not be embarassed to ask questions noboy is going to judge you for what you are (sounds like a fun guy) hope you and your partners daughter enjoy being on this forum not only for advice but a bit of fun.

sorry it should read nobody, I think it is time for bed, good night all.

You can edit your own posts - useful to correct typo's you didn't spot.
Should be a little icon in the bottom right corner of the post that you can click on. I regularly have to do this, as my fingers don't always obey what my brain wants them to do ..... oo er, missus 😱

Welcome Richard and Mohamed.................🙂
