I'm glad I've got an upgrade!

I go to Disneyland Paris almost every year, up until this year Disney hotels included continental breakfast, which was great as I could fill up on ham, cheese and scrambled eggs for breakfast. They now give you a voucher to use for breakfast in the park which is a grab and go breakfast. I saw pictures today of what was included. I'm glad I've got the upgraded club room at the hotel which includes continental breakfast buffet as the other breakfast option isn't exactly suitable for diabetics!!! See pics below.

Presumably Mickey Mouse isn't diabetic. If he was I'm sure it would be different🙄

Just imagine though...

If Disney did diabetes,
What a wonderful thing it would be!
For cute woodland creatures would all rally round,
And test strips would all grow on trees!

And hypos would sparkle like sunshine,
The meters would all dance and sing!
And a lancet called Burt would never, ever hurt,
And Lantus would no longer sting!

Insulin would be gathered from dewdrops,
Sucked up into colourful pens,
Metformin and gliclazide would be speckled eggs
Laid by clucking and magical hens!

Imagine if Minnie and Mickey
In the spirit of rodent romance,
Allowed you to see your HbA1c
Expressed through the medium of dance!

At the end of the heart-warming story,
We would all shed a tear when we hear
The Fairy Queen say that a cure’s on the way,
Diabetes? We’ve nothing to fear! :D

We go to France regularly and I find that it's not very diabetes friendly at all. Most meals come with frites and/or baguette so eating out tends to be salads. Luckily we travel in a motorhome so can self cater.

I've never had a problem in Disneyland, but was shocked when I saw the breakfast changes.

The supermarkets in California where selling 4ft long sarnis. Huge bags of crisp or chips ! I was a carry on getting down the isles ?
