I saw another web site advertised that looked like it might be useful, so I had a little explore. Looked at the womens health section (despite popular belief I am a woman), the section for sciatica (hubby has it along with his osteoarthritis) and the diabetes section. All the message boards mainly had threads about tramadol. SO what is tramadol, and what does it do and what's its' connection to potentially so many conditions?

T'internet says ....

"Tramadol (Ultram) is narcotic-like pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain"

Andy 🙂

Tramadol is an analgesic, one of the opiates I think. In other words a painkiller.

Thanks, I'm glad it's not my mind playing tricks on me. I'll go back and have another explore later but don't think I'll be using the site too much...

Tramadol is a strong painkiller. I've used it before when my frozen shoulder pain became too much. I also useD it the second time that they lasered holes in my eyes - it is relatively good but I had to use it with paracetamol and ibuprofen for enough pain relief. Tramadol leaves me feeling very weird headed and extremely fatigued ie barely able to leave bed, so I only use when I need very strong pain relief

Tramadol is an opiate, I was given it when I had very painful bladder stones but it made me feel ill so I stopped taking it. I felt totally spaced out and was sweating and my heart rate slowed right down.

I had a nother look at the web site and ALL of the message boards seemed to be talking about tramadol, so I wont go back there. I know it can be very useful, but it is good to explore other ays first and save this as a back up in necessary.

OOOO ... Tramadol ... opiate painkiller ... in the bracket of pethadine, morphine. Highly addictive.

I was give this after my hysterectomy 3yrs ago ... I lost days, couldnt string a sentence together, obssesed with a tuna sandwich ... that never came :( ... slept for england ... and had a massive come down from it ... all this considered it did its job and I felt no pain.

Heidi
xx🙂

I had a very severe reaction to Pethadine when I was in labour with my eldest so I wont be going anywhere near Tramadol. XXXXX

My husband, his ex-wife and their eldest daughter are allergic to all the opiates, not sure about their No 2 daughter or the grandkids.

I believe the allergy is quite common?

(So that means I ain't - common! LOL)
