Which is a surprise - got called on Thursday and asked to go in today.

I've got a Freestyle Navigator, which has realtime readout and is already proving addictive to look at! Am trying to just be as normal as possible and see what happens across the week.

Interestingly, when the DSN was fitting it, she said my referral was for a pre-pump CGM not for a pre-approval one - she thinks they've already agreed it's the way forward, which wasn't my impression. Anyway, back to have it removed on Friday and expecting to be called into antenatal clinic next Tues to discuss results.

Enjoy your graph-gazing!

I had my cgm experience about 2 weeks ago - Wed till Monday, and was the same machine, Freestyle Navigator. Very tempting to keep checking it, but only go off what the actual blood tests tell you! Thought it was fab!

Got my follow up with consultanct tomorrrow morning.

Enjoy, its fascinating😎

Casper, did you find it read lower than your usual monitor? I was woken heaps between 5 and 7am today with low warnings, so ended up double checking it as I felt ok - and my monitor read at least 1mmol higher than the CGM! Not sure if that's normal.

Enjoy your follow up - it's all fascinating.

Monkey - I had a CGM a couple of weeks ago and the numbers were way off. It once said I was at 2.4 but I did a finger prick test and was at 7.3. Another time it said I was far higher than the finger prick test. I was actually v disappointed with its accuracy. I have had a few months back and that time it was pretty much in line with my normal meter. Weird.

It did still manage to show the huge post-prandial peaks I was having after breakfast though.

Isn't there something about when/what state your BGs are in when you calibrate Rachel? ie calibration readings should be when your BGs are likely to be stable and not rising/falling dramatically?

(says he who has never even seen a CGM in real life!) 🙄

Yes there is, I only used the readings for calibration purposes when my BG were reasonably stable. You are not meant to calibrate is your BG is rapidly going up or down.

At least I am now no longer thinking of selling a kidney to get a CGM.

There were some discrepancies between cgm, using the cgm as a blood meter and my own blood meter, but not wildly different. Have to admit I didn't use the alarm feature on the monitor, but found the line graphs fascinating, particularly as I could see the drop overnight, then the swift climb afterwards following glucose release (presumably 😎)

That's interesting, from lots of perspectives.

I've had to calibrate when it told me - so 1, 2, 10 and 24 hours since starting, then I think once more at 72hrs.

The accuracy is concerning me now tho - the alarm levels are set pretty tightly because of pregnancy, but even so, I tihnk I'll be double checking a few more in the coming days.
