Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
hello everyone i hope im doing this right, im 34 and have just found out that i have diabetes im still waiting for the results as to what type i am. im no stranger to the conditions as many of my family have had to deal with being diabetic for many years. the down side to this is that i could have to give up my job which i dont enjoy but will lose my colleges who i enjoy being with. i have a hero in my dad who has been insilin dependant for many years, and has many more medical problems yet takes it all in his stride. if he can do it then so can i! so heres to a new journey of life, it may not have been the option that i wanted but there u go lol xxx

Hi and welcome Lisa,

I have moved your post so that it is a thread in it's own right. If you want to start a new topic then start it as new thread using that button.

Have they done the tests to determine what type of diabetes you have? What do you do for a job? I can only think of a handful of jobs that you wouldn't be able to do because of diabetes. Maybe some adjustments could be made?

Many of us have found this site invaluable for support, I hope you find the support you are looking for.

Hi Lisa,
Like they all said welcome.

thanks for the messages of support its great to know that your not alone. im a coach and bus driver and unfortunatly if i have to inject insillin it means that my pcv (public carriage vehicle) licence will be revoked. im waiting for my results to the type1 or type 2 tests. ive just had my machine now to check my blood everyday so thats gonna take some getting used to. specially with a needle phobia lol.xxx

hi Lisa and welcome.
Lets hope that you don't have to inject then you can keep your job... thought you were going to say that you quality taste tested at Cadbury's! lol
