Hi everyone,
I am a design engineer associated with Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, and I’m starting new research focused on diabetes. I myself have T1D.
However, I’d like to learn more about areas that others find challenging about having diabetes. I am also interested in hearing from parents/caregivers of children with T1D. A key pillar of my research approach is co-design, which involves key beneficiaries of future research and innovation throughout the entire process. Whether it’s related to technology, routines, or emotional well-being, your experiences can help shape new solutions that could make a big difference.
Some of my own challenges include spotting patterns in data and behaviours, as well as feeling burnout and low energy. I also acknowledge that there are some challenges that are specific to and nuanced between T1D, T2D, and other types of diabetes.
I’ll also leave a link to a 3-minute survey here, and I would be very grateful for your input. Your answers would help to reveal insights about diabetes-related problems that may currently be under-addressed (survey is anonymous & GDPR protected):
