A patient is to sue one of Scotland’s biggest health boards following a decision to axe controversial alternative medicines.

Honor Watt is taking on Lothian Health Board after they got rid of a £240,000 budget for homeopathic therapies.

The remedies are treated with increasing scepticism by medics but some patients insist they are beneficial.

Arthritis sufferer Honor, 74, of Dalkeith, Midlothian, plans to challenge the decision in court.

She said: “Without those homeopathic treatments, I’d be crippled and in agony.
