AN Ilfracombe supermarket was turned into a make-shift hair dressersyesterday as a member of staff shaved her head for charity.
Sarah Jane Norman underwent the dramatic transformation in front of dozens of colleagues and well-wishers in the lobby of the town’s Tesco superstore.
She took on the daunting challenge to help raise money for Diabetes UK. To date Sarah Jane has raised nearly £2,000 – with money from today’s stunt yet to be counted.
“It’s something that’s really close to my heart,” she said. “Awareness of diabetes is not that good. People need to know what it’s about and this is one way of letting them know.
