Good question! I'd like to go for a two hour run like I used to, without having to worry about my blood sugar levels and carrying paraphanelia with me! 🙂

Eat what I wanted and now have to worry about the consequences

...then I wouldn't share the sharing hamper!! lol

Got me thinking....what things would you do if you could go a couple of hours or a day without your normal routine/restrictions?

(And I know I could technically inject for all of this, but you know what I mean!!)

I can't think of anything for myself right now, so I would give it to my little grandaughter Grace to enjoy that day to her little hearts content :D, before 1st June 2011 came along. Sheena

Actually I'd like to BE diabetic for a day so that I'd know what it's really like
OR
I'd like to be diabetic permanently if it meant K wasn't :(

If K could have a day off I think she'd do just that - stay in bed most of the day and eat at random times (and probably go out for a Shakeaway with her friends)

I'd have a decent job, related to my qualifications, something that hasn't been possible since diagnosis.

i would have can after can of Pepsi and a good burb after wards i would also spend a fortune at the web site A quarter a pound of

change my mind at least 5 times about when or whether I'm going to eat/go for a walk/get up....etc etc!

I would have to say similar things to the rest of you, being able to be much more activity without the risk of hypo..........

to say I am restricted with food would be a lie, as most of the time I am good and test/inject, but sometimes I just don't, mainly on Saturdays.......😱

haha that's so true!! not having to worry about needing to finish everything because you injected for it all!

what is it you've got qualifications in cope? it's a shame your diabetes has stopped you doing what you love :(

awwww this made me cry. my mum would say exactly the same thing :(

I'd have full fat Dr Pepper and pizza and blancmange and vanilla ice cream with custard and chocolate pudding with chcolate sauce and chocolate ice cream with chcoalte sauce and flap jacks with maple syrup and treacle by the spoonfull

Or maybe not I had a kit kat for a treat yesterday and it was too sweet, but I'd certainly indulge in vanilla ice cream and custard as I no longer put sugar in the custard-everyone else seems to not mind it that way.

Right behind you with that one. Any parent would feel the same. x

This is why this Forum is so good for me: when I'm feeling really sorry for myself (too many days just recently) then I read the comments from parents/carers on here and it brings me up with a jolt.

It reminds me that my life isn't so bad - I can't imagine what it is like for those of you who are parents/carers and have the worry for your very much loved little ones all the time (and some not so little too). You have my admiration folks !

Well said Faith. Couldn't agree more.

A huge pot of Cherry Garcia ice cream and a full fat Dr Pepper. A big plate of lamb Biryani or Tandoori prawns, plus Aloo Gobi and Bahjis and Naan bread. A mango and banana smoothie (or shock, horror, a milkshake). And if I could also ditch the Rheumatoid Arthritis for the day I'd go bag that last munro. Ben Hope is the only one I never got to climb.

I'd love to go for a day to walk in the hills without worrying if I've eaten enough/too much and without taking a team of sherpas and mules to carry all the necessaries (or imagined necessaries 🙄) and eat as and when I wanted. 🙂

Or maybe just sleep in till dinnertime. :D

I feel exactly the same!

Carol probably would eat everything and anything unhealthy going, until she's sick...😱

Just take off for the day and leave all my diabetes equipment behind, just having the freedom to eat and drink without injecting or testing would be an ideal day. We can but dream:(

I know what you mums are saying....as I wouldn't not be diabetic for a day if it meant I had to give it someone else.

My mum would have loved having something like this forum around when she was looking after me.
