I need a few words of encouragement....

Since being given the all clear following my recent biopsy I've been treating myself a little too much - in the last 2 weeks I've had a chocolate bar (galaxy bubble); a lemon and poppy seed muffin and a few bags of 'baked' crisps.....I've even now got a taste for marmite rice cakes - I don't know why but I'm thinking about food all the time....😱

I know you can have the odd treat but I need to get back on track 😱 I haven't put on any weight and my sugar level's are currently ok but I feel very guilty and then worry about it...I don't want to go back to my old ways... I'm normally very good...

Can someone please tell me to STOP...🙂

STOP NOW!

It can be a trigger to relax a little after you have been doing so well, and after you are relived about the outcome of the biopsy, but you've already spotted the warning signs. I don't imagine that the treats have done you any harm at all, except, as you say, in starting to give you a taste for them. Can you reward yourself a bit more with non-food things? How about some lovely new running socks if you can go a week being good? (I just bought some nice ones, so not quite such a random suggestion! :D)

I knew I could rely on you and yes I will stop - I'll have to focus on something else; need to get my act together for my fun run in August - have slipped with the exercise of late because I don't want to lose anymore weight but do want to keep fit - any suggestions?? xx
P.S. Am still learning to swim and do a lot of walking - need to try and look at muscle gaining exercises

Its so easy to slip, when you have had such good results. I'm the same, and have found my insulin resistance has improved such that a treat has little effect.

Snag is, keep having the treats and we end up with more insulin resistance and higher readings again.

My exercise was very limited, but as I have improved, so has my exercise tolerance which is amazing for me. Nothing as good as yours mind, but I think thats the key, instead of temptation winning, immediately do some exercise instead. May work.🙂
