I kind of got emotional after a GP appointment this morning which also meant I ended up going to reception afterwards before leaving and insisting I spoke to a manager and she came out, took my concerns and said she would get back to me.
After this I knew I needed specialist diabetic input quickly and my request to the consultants secretary the other month and the month after that were ignored.
So I sent an email to the DSN team, literally ten minutes later the DSN I usually see rang me, told me to ring back if I ever needed anyone, spoke about my concerns and agreed I needed consultant input, said she would personally ensure an appointment is issued and in the meantime would also post out some blood forms for me to take to a local hub that do them to get up to date diabetes bloods ready for the consultant.
She was great.
