I wasn't planning on visiting this group over Christmas, but the wife has fallen asleep so thought i'd sneak on.🙂
Anyway, after much 'do I bother or not' discussions with myself, I made this low carb Yule Log & to be perfectly honest, I'm quite proud of it.

So far today, ive had half a bottle of Bucks Fizz, breakfast was a poached egg with 2 rashers of bacon on half a toasted english muffin, a gin & tonic, a few handuls of peanuts, a whisky & ginger ale, dinner of roast beef rib, Yorkshire pud, pigs in blankets, sprouts, turnip, sweet potato, carrots, peas & 2 roast potatoes.:D Now on the red wine.🙂

Well that looks exceedingly gooey.

I await the Taste Test !

I ate the leftover frosting. That was nice.o_O

Looks very tasty and authentic Mark. Did you post the recipe shomewhere I've missed? Did I hear the words I like even more than Yule Log - whisky and dry ginger? Yes please! 🙂

Looks good. Hope it tasted nice for you

I think I posted it in the recipe section. I haven't actually ate any of the actual log yet, but did scoff down the bits I trimmed off, & it's very nice. The original has coffee flavoured cream. I decided to do orange instead.

We've got a non low carb one that hasn't been breached yet either!

Had a slice for pud yesterday. Lovely but very rich. I think half a slice would be enough. Really happy with the sponge made with coconut flour & nine (yes, nine!) eggs. Didn't taste eggy, think the raw cacao powder masked it.

Good! I dunno how you managed to avoid it before LOL

Yeah, sometimes I surprise even myself!:D

I used Natvia sweetener. Its Stevia based.

Can I ask is it better to use cacao powder rather than the cocoa powder in the recipe?

Also is it buywholefoodsonline.co.uk the site you buy from. I'm going to make this log!

Yes, I buy everything from there, though I tend to get Natvia from Tesco. It is a natural product (a plant based sweetener). I bought the 100% raw cacao powder. to be honest, i've no idea what the difference is between that & cocoa. Less processing probably. Good luck.🙂
