Relationship to Diabetes

......there's something sharp sticking in my foot at the base of my right third toe! Checked it out with a mirror but can't see anything. Is this something related to diabetes I wonder? Your thoughts on this please will be appreciated.

It doesn't sound like it to me @wirralass, as diabetes-related foot problems tend to be more like numbness affecting more than one toe, or a painful, burning sensation, again affecting more of the toes (neuropathy). Also, your blood sugar levels tend to be pretty good, and it's more likely to strike when levels are high or when they are coming down from a period of being high - I got this 'transient neuropathy' when my levels started improving after diagnosis.

However, if it persists it would be worth getting it checked out as any other, non-diabetic, issues can be harder to fix when you have diabetes. Hope it turns out to be something and nothing! 🙂

Thank you Northie - that's a relief - but I heed your words

Have you actually checked your footwear LOL A tiny speck of cut toenail you missed picking up off the floor, but your foot picked it up - feels like half a housebrick when trapped in a sock!

Thanks tw.. Done everything I can think of - it's more annoying than than anything - it doesn't hurt but I''m conscious of it when walking. The only thing I can think of now as a last resort is - that it's that scheming b....y DF!!!!!
