i dont know what i have

hi evry body

i had discoverd my case when i renew my driving license it was 178 mg fbs i went to the doctor told that i have Diabetes and told me to take glucomet 850 2x and amerex 3 1 time but i went to another doctor told me make test blood sugar it was after lunch 3 hours the result was 85 mg told me to leave the amarex3 and just take glucomet 3 times after maels some people told me may you havent Diabetes but to make sure go to known doctor in our are a i discuse my case with doctor he told me to stop taking medicin for 3 days and then make OGTT test after fasting 10 hours i went to the lab and done this test and the results was as:
fbs 97 mg
after hour 243 mg
hour and half 200 mg
2 hours 163 mg
3 hours 90 mg
then i backed doctor told me that case is not Diabetes that i have IGT and told me to take glucomet 850 for 24 month and reapet the OGTT test evry six month
so will you plz help me to know what i have
 
Hi adelland, where are you based? I'm guessing not UK as the levels you have quoted are mg/dl as opposed to the mmol/l we use in the UK. Criteria for a diagnosis of diabetes may be different where you are, but here an OGTT with a reading of 11.1 mmol/l or greater at two hours would confirm you as diabetic - this would be 200 mg/dl and you were 163 mg/dl so they have said that you have impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). I'm guessing that the medication you are given is metformin which should help you control your blood sugar levels better. I would suggest that you look at the GL Diet and start eating according to the principles and this should help 🙂

From what you have said it sounds like you may be in danger of developing Type 2 diabetes.
