Aaaaagghh, I?m hungry!

My body seems to be playing an interesting game with me. For the last week and a bit I?ve been feeling more hungry ? so I increased the size of my regular scheduled snacks and some meals a bit. My body responded by jumping me from 66.6 kg to 67.4 kg 😱! This isn?t a huge jump (about 2 lb) but for the 3 weeks previous I?ve known what my weight would be before I?ve stepped on the scales.

I?m assuming my body is trying to stock up for winter, the only thing is, I don?t hibernate! 😛

I?ve got things back under control again. But instead I keep on feeling very hungry with my tummy rumbling a good hour before a meal. I've got just enough self-control to ignore it right now ? but it?s getting very very tempting to be very naughty!

Fortunately my BG numbers seem to be OK with high 5's before meals as usual.

If you start growing spines on your back and curling up when you get threatened, get yourself to the nearest vet quick! 😱

As you say, winter is coming and we're all getting fat. The T1 equivalent must be when our BGs creep higher and we need more insulin than summer (did with me anyway).🙂

It'll soon be new year and then we can look forward to spring again. :D

I seem to get the munchies at very odd times that don't seem linked to my BGs. It can happen whether I'm high or low and can be very hard to resist.

I'm trying not to snack unless I'm having a hypo and taking more time to eat my meals. I'm also having four small meals per day rather than three normal ones. Which does seem to help a bit. My main problem is that I just can't eat in the mornings much before 9:30 I feel too sick, if I leave it later than that though I really get hungry and stay that way all day.

I certainly get more hungry in the winter months than I do any other time of the year, the meals I eat now are sufficient to last until the next meal so if I feel hungry I just switch off from it provided my bg is fine.

Mark - just a thought - do you get hungry very quickly after eating too? If so, it might be worth having your insulin checked with your consultant as you could be having floods like me - I do hope not!

Keep an eye on it - and if you start to notice sudden large gains for no explained reason - it might be worth speaking to someone.

Then again - it is dark and f.f.f.f. frreeezing lately and that seems to spark comfort food cravings sometimes??:D

Considering my avatar, there is probably a greater risk of my going off the snooze in the nearest volcano.

Thought the title of your thread was the start to a song lol.You would of been great on Noahs Ark Mark 😛
