Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi,
I applied for my first provisional driving license last year with help from the work and health programme that I'm on to help me to get a job.
Whilst my key worker was helping me to fill out the form, one of the questions asked about medical conditions I have. I have a type 2 diabetes along with a few others and my key worker said that I didn't need to mention my diabetes as I'm going to be using my provisional driving licence for I.D, but I wanted to add it anyway.
I am still waiting for my provisional driving licence and a few other documents to be sent back to me in the post.
Was I right to add my diabetes to my provisional driving licence or not as I'd ready added my other medical conditions to the form.

Yes, you were right @DaddysGirl19i2 The form needs you to answer all questions truthfully and fully, so you did the right thing 🙂

Are you on any medication for your diabetes?

You don’t need to declare diabetes to the DVLA unless you’re on insulin, so if you would have ticked ‘diabetes controlled by tablets’ you can check with the dvla but they wouldn’t have asked you to fill in extra forms. If you should have ticked ‘diabetes controlled by insulin’ you need to tell the dvla immediately and fill in the appropriate extra form.
