Today I have eaten this:

breakfast time (around eleven)

six thin slices of corned beef - 0 carb

2 x 16g Boursin individual portions - 1.0g carb (0.6 sugars)

6g of butter - 0 carbs

5g of coconut oil - 0 carbs

2 cups of decaff coffee - 0 carbs

1 pumpkin seed ryvita - 5.7g carb - 1.8g fibre = 3.9 net carbs (0.3 sugars)

Total 4.9g net carbs

7.7 mmols just after eating and while drinking a cup of caffeinated organic white tea.
2 hours later 6.2
another hour later 5.9

Lunch/tea around four - 5.7 just before eating

1 mozarella ball - 2g carb

1 medium tomato - 2.4 g carb - 0.8g fibre = 1.6g carb

2 inches of cucumber - 0.93 net carbs

a sprinkle of chia seeds - negligible carbs

1 boursin portion 16g - .5g carb

a squirt of hellman's mayo - negligible carbs

Big glass of water

Total - 5.03g carbs

running total 9.93

Four squares of chocologic chocolate - can't work out the carbs because there are more fibre grammes than carb grammes.

It is now ten past seven and my blood sugar is 5.5

I've had loads of decaff green tea and coffee and a few glasses of water.

I feel very full and a bit bloated and not hungry at all. I had a disturbed night last night and I am quite yawny and would rather go to bed early now than have something to eat.

Ought I to make myself have something or is it okay to listen to my body and just have an early night?
If I do have to have something would a small piece of cheddar be okay?

No you don't have to eat if you don't want to or feel like it at all unless of course you are on any medication that may cause you to go low

May I ask, are you based in the UK? if so fibre is already deducted from the carbs and separated on UK nutrition labels
xx

I was going to say just the same @Kaylz - if that’s a tip you’ve picked up from the US (or from things like myFitnessPal) it can be confusing, but in the UK, carb values already have the fibre deducted 🙂

oh thank you - that is useful information. That means my carbs are more like 17 today so I'm almost at my 20 for the day and so I can relax. Phew. I will go to bed then and have a nice unworried sleep 🙂

You might find that eating some salad stuff or a stirfry is a better idea than a cracker. I find that carbs from grains affect me more than they might be expected to, and I don't need to eat lunch either if I avoid dense carb foods.
Veges and salad stuff has vitamins and minerals too.
I found that eating twice a day and no more than 50 gm of carbs got me down to the top edge of normal. I dropped down to 40 gm when my Hba1c did not go down - but I suspect that I was diabetic for a long time. My after eating levels indicate an expected level rather lower than 42 - but it seems I am stuck there at the moment.

You should eat when you want to, if you are full then don’t eat
