Hi, I had a hypo earlier and the first sign is back pain that turns into agony quite quickly then creeps around to my stomach, then the other symptoms start, the pain does subside as I recover. Does anybody else have this back pain as I can't find any reference to it or am I just an oddball? (I am 68)

Hello @Jude55 , welcome to the forum.
TBH I have never heard of that being a hypo symptom, having said that I have one that is not mentioned either, an urgent need to wee esp if I wake up hypo.

I assume you have tested when you had these pains and were below 4.0

What Diabetes medications are you on.

Hello Jude

It’s certainly not one of the classic symptoms, as your research has shown. Though extreme hunger is quite a common symptom, so perhaps your system is interpreting the hunger as pain?

Everyone has different symptoms, but the most common symptoms of a hypo are:
  • trembling and feeling shaky
  • sweating
  • being anxious or irritable
  • going pale
  • palpitations and a fast pulse
  • lips feeling tingly
  • blurred sight
  • being hungry
  • feeling tearful
  • tiredness
  • having a headache
  • lack of concentration.
