Just had a 'Hypo'

BG 5.4 @ 01:25 when I checked in bedroom
BG 4.8 @ 01:30 down stairs -

(I have two meters, one I keep in bed room ) was droping fast and I got the shakes @ about 01:20 and must have been near 6 - now coming back after a cup of tea and a BLT sandwich and a small plain bun.

Routine normal for weeks and BG was 8 at about 20:30 I had a sandwich and cup of tea before 21:00 after which I took 22 units - normal for each evening.

BG 10.7 @ 02:00 _ I cal both meters weekly
BG 13.9 @ 02:15
BG 14.7 @ 02:30
BG 14.1 @ 02:45
BG 16.3 @ 03:00
BG 14.8 @ 03:15
BG 13.7 @ 03:30

oscillations not too bad - will be ok now - caught this sucker in time.

So ..... what could be happening is that the dose of one of the insulins in the mix is too great at a certain time after your jab, and it will continue to reduce your BG for as long as it's operational - which might be 5-ish hours or far longer, depending on which insulin is doing this to you. (or it could be a mixture of both of them, couldn't it?)

Make sense?

But you can't reduce (or increase) one part without doing the same to the other part(s).

So - have you tried reducing the doseage?

Just checked and peak activity for M3 is around 3-4 hours after jabbing. But the sandwich has got there before that peak and been dealt with already, so clearly, it's just too much insulin. And at the wrong moment.

Yes?

Makes sense and I am reducing to 10 units but the problem is why? - I am dead stable for weeks and no change to my routine, am pumping the same and for no reason that I can fathom, it goes haywire.

BG at 20:00 reads 8 to 11 - sandwich spread sandwich and cup of tea followed by evening jab before 21:00, same as every night.

Previous meal about four of a corn beef sandwich and usually about twelve I jab 32 units and have two scoops potatoe and a sausage sometimes a portion of chicken curry and two scoops then a two kilo walk with the dog - dont have a breakfast. Check BG randomly during day but always at 20:00 - occasionally I nibble a dry oatcake or a biscuit in bed if hungry.

The thing about diabetes is you learn routine.

I am at a loss.
