On Saturday I was in M&S with DH when I suddenly felt 'odd' and couldn't see well so I stopped and checked my BG - it was 2.1 😱. I hadn't had symptoms before that and only had a couple of glucose tabs on me so had those then DH dragged me to the nearest bakery and got me a bun. It was quite scary as I really felt unwell, think it must've dropped really quickly. Had a hypo today but had symptoms at 3.5 so relieved about that!

In M&S ? You should have headed for the food hall and got stuck in to the cakes! M&S are very understanding and you probably would'nt have had to pay.
I was in Do it All and had a Hypo where upon the manager gave me a hot tea with ten sugars and a Mars bar from the tills and a sit down. I only paid for the paint I had come in for and they all received 'brownie points' for being good Samaritains so every body won that day.

Please, please, pleasee always have food in your pocket in case of hypos.

I'd never dream of eating food that I hadn't paid for / been given, but have never had to, due to simple precaution of always having a few sweets in my pockets of clothing and rucksack, and in the very few occasions when I have to wear a dress / can't have a rucksack, in a handbag or similar.

Im normally obsessive about having sweets or jelly babies with me. But on Saturday when I left the house I didn't take any because my BG was 17. Went for some gentle shopping and realised my mistake when it took me three attempts to pay for something. Yep BG was 3.3 . Fortunately I was able to walk with OH to shop so that he could buy my jelly babies. Served me right for not having anything with me but the hypo did spoil my Christmas shopping trip because I felt so hypo trembly😡

sounds awfull I'm glad you got it all sorted and feel better

Do you know why you dropped so low from so high? Or was it just all the walking around?

I had a correction dose which should have taken me down to 5 but together with the shopping caused the hypo it's my fault really I should have had one unit less of humalog so that there wasn't a hypo risk. I went out just after having a sleep so probably wasn't thinking straight

Shopping and hypos. It's all very mysterious.

.....very mysterious! certain supermarket lighting induces hypos for me....don't know why, but true!

It seems as if most of us have had hypos in the main super markets.

All we need now is the iceing on the cake...... who's going to hypo in Harrods? :D

Weird. I always blame the lights in toys r us. They make me feel awful.

...I get the same in the big Tesco's sometimes????

Might just go into Harrods to investigate... but I can't think of anything I'd want to see / buy there, nor any inclination to have a hypo on demand 🙂 Never had a hypo in any supermarket or shop, perhaps because I spend as little time as possible in such places.

That's something neither DH or I thought of! I blame my hypo for not thinking straight, not sure what DH can blame it on though :D

Hmmmmm....DH needs re-educating me thinks! Dragged you OUT of M&S did he? I actually think that's a pretty good place to have one. Their white chocolate fresh baked cookies would I am sure have brought you back up rapidly :D (Actually, they are too sickly)!

An ex boyfriend dragged me out of a pub and drove to the nearest convenience store to buy me a sugary drink once..... Panic can do that to people! Either that or he was just too embarrassed to be seen with me in my hypo state.

I think it was probably panic tbh, DH goes panic when I have a hypo like that and he doesn't like shopping anyway so probably thought best get out of the shop! Obviously he doesn't understand how it feels and (thankfully) has never had to truly panic as I've been as low as 1.6 and still been standing.
