Carol told me that she was 2.2 at 10am this morning. When she reached in her bag to get the glucotabs, she found the tub empty😱. She put her hand up and told teacher. Teacher sent someone else to get glucose from office. Apparently another teacher then arrived with the whole bag and wanted to give Carol the coke. She didn't fancy the coke though and asked for the tabs.
After Carol told me all this, I asked her if she used her hot water bottle (YES, she took a hot water bottle to school🙄). She said yes and that her teacher even offered to boil some more hot water for her when it was cold😛. I told her that having a hot water bottle against your tum would make the insulin absorb quicker.

Wow glad there was a back up supply of glucose, and all ended well.
Sounds as if Carol has the teachers well trained 🙄

Yes, School Nurse had to supply some at times, as Carol didn't tell me she'd used the ones I supplied, so now they have 2 cokes, a pot of 50 tabs and some glucogel (which she hates) plus all the other paraphernalia that goes with D and pump.

Phew! Good thing school was on the ball😱

Two questions tho' Monica (if I can)

Why a hot waterbottle at school?

And

How come school allow it?

First question may answer the second:D

Hope she's OK now - just imagining what a drama like that might do to K's mood/attendance on Monday!

LOL, I was quite surprised that teacher (male) allowed it. The "hwb" was just because it's freezing. She wanted to carry it under her coat, but 1. she looked pregnant and 2. she couldn't do her coat up.
Tonight she's gone out wearing 5 layers on top half, but only 2 on bottom 😱
