On Saturday I had one of the worst hypos I have ever had. I tested 2 hrs after lunch, BG 7.7. Less than an hour later my vision almost went, tested BG and I was 1.9 😱. Luckily DH was with me and quickly got me things to drink/eat and I felt better quite quickly. Just a really weird hypo for no apparent reason. Oddly, since that hypo my hypo awareness has been around the low 4s, which is quite high for me.

Wow, that is low! They are always worse when they drop quickly too - glad to hear that you had assistance on hand! In my 3.5 years I've had a handful of real, unexplained plummeters - can only really put it down to an absorbtion problem i.e. suddenly getting a lot of insulin absorbed from the injection site.

Hope you don't get another one like that for a very long time (or ever!) 🙂

I sympathise....I was 1.8 on Friday night. 😱

Was being good and carb-counting....went out for a meal & injected after main meal but before dessert (which I was actually looking forward to having now I could inject for it properly), then I only ate 3 spoons of it as I felt guilty for eating badly when I'm trying to lose weight....didn't give the levels a second thought until the sweat started dripping off my head when I got home. When I tested I then started panicking as well as I knew all the insulin wouldn't have worked yet...so I drunk a whole bottle of lucozade..and an orange juice!

ended up ok in the end, but it is scary stuff.

Oh no, it is scary when it happens, I guess we are lucky we are still conscious at those levels as many aren't. Glad we both came out of it ok!

Thank you Northerner. I guess it must've been an aborption problem as it was so unexplained other than that. I have been having a few problems with sites recently so does make sense. Only had 3 hypos below 2 in 10 years thankfully.
