Hundreds of pounds raised for diabetes charity at Tesco store in Merthyr Tydfil

Volunteers in Merthyr Tydfil raised hundreds of pounds for charity during a Big Collection weekend at the town’s Tesco store.

Those involved collected donations for three days and helped raise awareness of diabetes, a condition that affects one in seven people.

The Big Collection is a nationwide fundraising event for Diabetes UK and this year it took place in 328 Tesco stores across the UK.

At the Merthyr store, more than £640 was raised for the charity.

We raised £575 at Sunderland store. Should be a good total 😎 Only 300 hundred stores this year was 600 last year. As soon as I find out total I will post. Well done Mertha !
