I wonder how often you are offered an HbA1c test. Just had mine and now my next one is 6 months, 12 months was suggested. That seems rather long to go without a check.
 
12 months is fairly standard once you are under control and on target. Remember it's basically the average over the previous 3 months so you don't need it all that often.
 
Mine are currently quarterly, but only because I've had such a hard time with the meds. My friend's T2 mum has an annual check.
 
Roughly 6 monthly, sometimes a bit less, sometimes more. This is because both my GP and the hospital do them and it just depends on when the appointments fall as to whether they can use what the other has done. My GP can see the hospital ones, but the hospital can't see his ..... :(
 
Was 12 monthly for many years, but now that the GP insist on a review as well as the hospital it's gone back to 6 monthly.
