I was supposed to have my annual diabetic check up a few days ago unfortunately i was in hospital and unable to attend it. i saw the diabetic consultant while i was in and told him about it and he said it can be arranged it was even mentioned on my discharge letter. Phoned them up today and new appointment has been arranged wait for it in May 😱of next year and this is the earliest they can do it. Think i may well have words with my gp and see if he can get this changed

I think the receptionist must of got confused and assumed that you were booking your next 6 monthly.

I had something similar recently Gail. There was a change of team at my clinic and they got a bit behind. It was more like 18 months than 12 in the end, and would have been longer but they managed to fit me in to a cancellation (I was at 'number 60' on the list which would likely have put my appointment at 24 months+).

If you are fairly flexible with timings, you could always to be contacted if there are cancelled appointments. You might be able to fit you in much earlier than May.
