i haven’t seen one yet, despite being told upon diagnosis that I would get an appointment with the practice’s diabetic nurse. How long did you wait to be seen?
First practice nurse appointment was over a month & a half after being given the diagnoses, if I recall correct. I was diagnosed while in hospital, was discharged 12 days later and had the appointment with the nurse 40 days after that.
I don't think there is one at my surgery - I have only ever seen the usual nurses and had my usual conversations about my thyroid, I have been told my diabetes test results when I asked, these last few times, and I was sent to other surgeries for general health checks. It is probably a good thing that I don't need support.
