How do you start a conversation?

I have tried to start a conversation just dont know how to do it
 
Well, on mine, if I click my name on the bar on this page, select 'conversations' from the drop down box, it takes me through to a page that has a 'Start conversation' option, which I can click on. I believe some people have had to get Admin to tweak something to make theirs work, though, so @Northerner may need to help.
 
I almost said a daft comment along the lines of take a deep breath, smile and go for it. Thank goodness it's Friday
