Houmous and peanut butter

May do that thanks I’ll have a look. I was told that as mine wasn’t classed as diabetes but pre diabetes having a reading of 46 and therefore yearly would do. Can’t do any harm to ask though as when people really try then it’s not unreasonable to want to know before then.
 
When people are diagnosed with diabetes then they are usually offered a test after 3 months to make sure that the measures adopted have been working.
I think you mean “when people are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, …”
This is different for someone diagnosed with Type 1 when the “measures adopted” is insulin which is checked with finger prick and/or CGM and checked that the dosing is appropriate much sooner than 3 months.
Sorry to be pedantic but this could be confusing for someone newly diagnosed with Type 1 (or Type 3c or MODY) and I get frustrated by the media abbreviating type 2 diabetes which leads to many of us receiving some wrong “advice” from armchair doctors.
