love hot chocolate are there any available that are suitable.am type 2 on metoformin sr.

Unfortunately we are all individual and tolerate things differently so nobody can tell you what will be suitable for you, you have to find this out yourself through testing, I think the lowest carb hot chocolate would be the sachets of Options xx

I drink the options ones.

As @Kaylz says, testing is the only way to see how your body responds. Sadly I find that Options, even a pretty weak one needs 1.5 units of insulin for me, so without that, it would raise my levels by about 4.5mmols, which is way more than I can justify, other than an occasional treat. (Coffee mate has the same effect so that is also off the shopping list. I tried Bourneville cocoa with cream and hot water last night and that didn't work too well for me either, so I am still working on a solution to this. Coffee with real double cream is now my "go to" comfort drink and that doesn't affect levels at all unless I have a second cup and then the caffeine causes my levels to rise.

Hey Rebrascora have you tried the keto bomb proof coffee drink ( coffee and butter , how did you like it if you did ? I don’t understand how someone can drink it , it tasted to buttery for me . Is there a way to ask coffee shops for a creamed coffee ???

Oh boy you brought up hot choccie , I’d literally have to test myself so see if it’s worth it or not but I did find this , as I’m also type 2 and metformin tablets . Haven’t tried it yet but I do miss a good old hot choccie . What does everyone think of this one ???

@Jacinta (Australian) I have butter in my coffee if I run out of cream but I am not a fan and my next coffee with cream always tastes even more delicious afterwards. I can't comment on how to order as I don't subscribe to the trend of drinking coffee whilst out and about. I make my coffee at home on a morning and that's usually it for the day. Might have another one at lunchtime particularly if it is cold, but don't understand this obsession with drinking coffee whilst out and about and I personally don't have the finances to waste on it.

What type of cream or creamer do you recommend ? I wouldn’t mind trying it instead of milk to be honest , I did bullet proof coffee with butter and honestly I didn’t like it , wasn’t for me I tried to like it but I guess it was way to buttery tasting to me . I usually don’t go buy a coffee from a coffee shop but I only do it if I know I’m going to be out longer then normal . As I don’t really drink anything else .

I just use regular double cream. I don't use any artificial stuff like the "Elmlea" we have here which is made from a concoction of vegetable fats and emulsifiers or "squirty" Aerosol cream, just regular cows double cream. Yum!

Barbara, it was probably you who persuaded me to try a splash of double cream and it works for me. I have three or four single shot coffees each morning and I’m fine with it. Hot water to heat the glass, about ⅓, then a single shot of espresso followed by a tablespoon of double cream, then fill the glass with freshly boiled water. Delicious.

"squirty" Aerosol cream
Awful stuff. I very very rarely drink coffee after 11 or 12 o’clock but my wife often has an irish coffee after an evening meal out. If it has squirty cream it goes straight back.
