I like a mug of hot choc in the evening normaly the options variety thing is should i be taking x amount of insulin to cover this even though i have already had my pre dinner dose earlier in the evening.

if it was me, i would cover it with insulin, if over 10 g of carbs...........

if I still had insulin working away, my ratio of insulin to carbs would be 1 unit for every 10 grams, as opposed to 1.5 units of insulin to 10 grams that I have in the evening.........my experience of OVERLAPPING insulin has resulted in hypos...

Not sure if your aware of ratios being type 2 but I hope that helped....

I have those so Ive just checked - one sachet is about 5g of carb if you make it up with water so would assume Ok to have without insulin at bedtime for my daughter (she doesnt like it tho' - more for me, yum) but dont know if it would be the same for Type 2.

My Dad was Type 2 and used to have a cuppa soup for supper - dont know why:confused:
