Just back from The West Suffolk after an eight night stay after having a Hypo.

Makes me so glad I have neighbours that keep an eye on me.
Ambulance called on Monday when my absence was noticed Sat eve & Sunday.

Metformin now binned and it's insulin injections from now on.

Hi Paul. Sorry to hear about your incident and stay. Just wanted to check if you meant hypo (low blood sugar)? It is very unusual to have a bad hypo on just metformin, and seems odd to start insulin if your levels are very low. I hope you’re feeling better now?

Thanks, yes lots better now.

Apart from a secondary chest infection and what was termed water retention it's on my discharge letter as

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) whatever that is. ?

DKA would be present in a hyper (high levels) rather than a hypo (low levels) DKA is life threatening, are they certain you are Type 2 like your profile states? Just it is more uncommon for a Type 2 to end up in DKA

Glad to hear you are feeling better and so glad that you have such decent neighbours!
xx

Hello Paul, pleased to hear you are home and well.
DKA is high blood sugars (Hyperglycaemia)

Ah! the other way round then.

Yikes! sorry to hear about your stay in hospital @PaulG 😱

Sounds like you may be getting reclassified as T1 or LADA?

Oh no. I trust you are fully recovered now.
I too think you may be getting reclassified as T1 or LADA.

Paul with you been on insulin please keep a close eye on your BG readings instead of hyper you are now at risk of hypo, i was on insulin for a while and had quite a few lows below 4 had one when a nurse was here, honestly thought i was going crazy every time she spoke to me i was getting more annoyed for no reasons until she asked if i was okay to which i said i wasn't, checked my BG and it was below 4.
