A Cornish MP has warned that low morale among hospital staff will only be made worse by an increase in car parking charges.
Truro and Falmouth MP Sarah Newton voiced her concerns at the annual general meeting of the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust (RCHT).
She also repeated concerns about the organisation’s £4million bill to employ temporary agency staff.
However, the trust hit back saying they were forced to buy in extra staff because demand for services had rocketed.
The hike in car parking charges was also robustly defended as allowing the trust to put more money patient care.
