A hospital trust has created two new roles that could speed up treatment times in accident and emergency (A&E) departments.
The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) has become the first trust in the North West of England to appoint two new physician associates.
Roz Clegg joined the team in the emergency department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and she will be joined in August by Harjer Khadim.
They will provide a bridge between nurses and doctors that should help speed up the treatment of patients within the emergency department.
