Food for thought about the UK lockdown/restrictions strategy -- if you end up killing and making more people suffer than the people you save, not to mention the effect it's had on jobs, businesses, travel, social activity etc.
Hospital admissions for some illnesses fell by up to 90% in first wave
While Britons were told to 'Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives' - a slogan used at the height of lockdown to discourage households from mixing - the number of hospital admissions dropped.

Lockdown ghost towns could cost economy more than one million jobs
Hospitality industry leaders say that as many as 750,000 jobs could go in their sector alone by early next year - and a total of 255,000 retail jobs could be lost by the end of 2020.
