Looks like Holby is following Casualty in the What ailment can we give a patient - I know diabetes. Undiagnosed adult finally diagnosed as T1 with a blood glucose of 40? (do meters go that high?, thought they read 'hi' after 32/33 ish)
P.S. its at about 34 minutes in on iplayer.

I think hospital meters go higher than domestic ones - I was 37 at diagnosis, and I remember on a documentary they had a lad who was over 60. I seem to remember Kati, who founded this forum, was 100 at diagnosis 😱
 
Can't see what meter they are using, the test strip looks a funny one and blood sample is applied onto the top of the strip not at the end or side :confused: .
