Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi, I have been type 1 since March 1972. I was 3. Had to use a glass syringe and clinitest!
But have been on MDI for several years now. I use Novorapid and Tresiba. I carb count using DAFNE. I did that course in 2009.
I live in Lisburn, Northern Ireland and have been here 13 years. My home town is Worthing, West Sussex.
I have 4 adult sons and all are on the Autistic Spectrum.

I am happily married and we have 4 cats and 2 Westie’s. I love animals and support several animal charities. I’m also Vegetarian as my body is not a graveyard.
Have had a tough life until I met my husband and we’ve been together for 10 years.
I was a nurse and my husband was a security guard. But we are classed as disabled due to a lot of problems so we are unable to work now.
I get Balance magazine and have done since I was a young girl. Diabetes UK was known as BDA then (British Diabetic Association)
Thank you
