hahaha just thought I would add a wee bit of humour in the heading!
Im 50 and have had T-2 for 11yrs, now on Levemir insulin injections twice a day as well as tablets.
Im finding the english where I live (Rugby) not very chatty or friendly unless in a shop being served at the till! yes there are sooooo many other nationalities here now too and no-one talks to anyone unless they are their own people!
I live with my hubby and hes originally wolverhampton so hes ok and talks to anyone haha, our 13yr old has found school ok and made lots of friends...even if only to listen to her accent!
Lived here nearly 3 yrs and love it as far as theres far more places to visit, places for kids, no-one knows you...us scots are "nosey buggers" haha we like to say hiya and where are you from etc so havin a wee blether with someone is a struggle.

Take care of you....smile...xxx

Welcome to the forum.

I've got the accent from living north of the border for a good few years, but not the blood - both parents being English.

Welcome @susan dudley. Unlike @pottersusan I have the blood but not the accent having spent large chunks of my life awa fae hame - been back in Snechie over 6 years now. How are you getting on with the insulin?

Hi Susan! I'm not far from you (near Jct 3 of the M6) and our eldest married a Newbold lad and her family live in Bilton and some of em work in Dunchurch (at 'that' pub, LOL) I attend the Diabetes clinic at St Cross - my choice cos they are nicer than at UHCW.

Oh wow thanks very much for the welcome fellow diabetics...feeling happier now.
my parents were gleswegians and moved to peterborough then had me n my brother split up and mum took us to glasgow then we moved to a wee place in falkirk.
I have been diabetic 11yrs! levemir is good stuff....i take 46units and thats because i can be a lazy bugger and eat what i want without the stress. i have found that hypos do come on quick so eating something small every 2 hours helps. never been into red meat much but my stomach now really doesnt like anything even bacon, tummy pains and bloating and burping haha
sorry trophywench i don't know "that" pub! haha but its cool someone lives nearby.

thanks again for all your kindness....take care of you...smile...xxx

Hello and welcome! Glad you found us. I think I know that pub. Husband's grandmother used to live in Dunchurch and we had her after funeral do at the pub. Am often that sort of way as my parents live in Leamington Spa.

Hi Susan, welcome to the forum 🙂 Lots of friendly people here, so don't be shy if you have any questions! 🙂
